My name is Linda. My Chinook passed away suddenly August 15, 1998. He had Epilepsy & Hypothyroidism. He was a purebred 3.8 year old Alaskan Malamute. He weighed 148 lbs. He was very friendly and loved kids. The Alaskan Malamute is a native sled-dog of Alaska. It was originally named "Mahlemut" after a native Innuit (Mahlemut) Tribe. The Alaskan Malamute is a powerful substantially built dog. Malamutes are of various colors, but are usually wofish gray or black and white. The Malamute as a sledge dog for heavy freighting is designed for strength and endurance. Chinook (sheh-nook') was named after a tribe noted as traders and fishermen. Could be why he loved tuna fish so much! It is also a warm southwest wind which usually comes in the winter and suddenly melts the snow. He was my best friend! He was always there to cheer me up. I know if he could he would never leave me. He was a great dog. His show name was Artic Legend.(and he is) I know no one could love you more. Till we meet again. I will always love you, Mommy, Daria, Dane, Damon, Dena, Aunt Del, & Grandma
